Looker Engineer / BI Engineer

You will work on different projects to help Astrafy customers get the most out of their data. You will work on the business and technical sides of the customer use case.

On the business side:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the business needs.

• Challenge and refine the requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives.

• Perform a thorough analysis of the client's database to assess the available data.

• Conduct workshops with stakeholders to validate KPIs.

• Define visualizations and the overall dashboard structure in Looker (using Miro or Figma)

On the technical side:

• Build or refine the data model to support Looker’s data exploration (using BigQuery and dbt).

• Develop LookML models for transforming and structuring data.

• Ensure flexibility for users to explore custom reports.

• Focus on usability and clear data presentation.

• Leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance user experience

In addition to these core responsibilities, we strongly value knowledge-sharing and community engagement. At Astrafy, we are active contributors on platforms like Medium, where we regularly publish articles to share our expertise, insights, and innovations, helping to grow both our community and industry presence.

As part of the role, the candidate will also be encouraged to write articles, offering valuable insights and thought leadership to enhance Astrafy's impact further and foster greater collaboration within our field.

• Experience with enterprise-grade BI tools is required (Looker, Looker Studio)
• Advanced knowledge of SQL is required
• Google Cloud knowledge (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Function ...) is required
• Good understanding of dbt
• Good understanding of end-to-end pipeline design and implementation (ETL)
• Experience with dbt and Git is required
• Strong data visualization skills to convey information and results clearly
• Attention to detail and quality with excellent problem-solving
• You have an analytics and solution-oriented mindset
• You work well in a team as well as independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (both with your colleagues as well as with external stakeholders)
• You speak English fluently. Speaking French is a significant plus and will help you stand out from other applicants.
